When was the last time your passion for God and his kingdom work matched, or was more than one of those things on the list above?
Maybe you, like many others, are feeling the effects of APATHY. Our working definition of apathy is from Dr. Uche Anizor (book resource below)
Apathy is a psychological and spiritual sickness in which we experience a prolonged dampening of motivation, effort, and emotion, as well as a resistance to the things that would bring flourishing in ourselves and others. It is a sin that expresses itself as restlessness, aimlessness, laziness, and joylessness toward the things of God.
If you think this could even remotely be the case for you, here are some things to consider.
First, you are not alone. Welcome to ‘club meh’ we’ve saved a seat for you.
Second, it is not fatal. We can get through this together.
Third, there is a cure! It’s not working harder or doing more; it’s Jesus and his gospel love and grace!
